Diana "Dee" Sanguinetti

Diana Sanguinetti is one of our own products, having played for the talented Stars '83 team. Known as Dee, she got her soccer start in Connecticut, where she played for the Yankee United, and was a member of their ODP program. When she was 14, her family relocated to Southern California, and they joined our club. Dee immediately made an impact on the team as she solidified the already strong defense, and gave the team some needed physical presence. She was a member of the State and Regional ODP teams, and her skills did not go unnoticed, as she earned a Division I soccer scholarship at Cal State Long Beach. In her Freshman year at Long Beach State she was named to the 1st Team All-Big West Conference. As a Sophomore she received All-Big West Conference Honorable mention. In January 2003 she transferred and joined Pepperdine Waves. Her defensive play helped Pepperdine establish school record 11 shut-outs and once again make NCAA Division I Playoffs. As a senior, Dee anchored the defense that set school record with 12 shut-outs in a season, including a school record of 6 in a row.
