Donald - Director

Hugh Donald has several decades of experience
coaching youth and adult teams.
Born in Glascow, Scottland, Hugh turned his successful youth soccer
career into a professional one. In 1979 he was voted "Youth
Player of the Year" in his debut with the adult pro team Airdrie
in Glasgow. The following season he accepted a pro contract with
the team. He played both pro and semipro soccer for the Santa Monica
Waves and Hollywood Stars respectively.
It was in Santa Monica that Hugh began coaching girls at the High
School level. From 1986-95 as varsity coach, he was influential
in developing the Viking's program, guiding them to the CIF playoffs
in all of his seasons but one. Since then, he has coached many youth
teams during the past 12 years, and several of them to Cal South
State Championships and Regional titles. During the 1992-1998 years,
he was heavily involved with ODP system, coaching youth and adult
teams. He has been recognized as one of Southern California's top
youth coaches, placing a large number of his graduates on college
rosters across the nation. |
