Jose Mejia

Jose Mejia played club soccer with our own Valley United, North Hollywood Jets, and California Stars. He attended Reseda High School, and as an outstanding member of Reseda Varsity team, he led them to several post season playoffs. For his excellent and consistant performace and leadership, he was named the "City Section Player of the Year" in 1994-1995 season. Jose continued his playing career in College at Rio Hondo, and then went on and played professionally for several years. In 1998 he played for Club Deportivo FAS, then in 2000, he was a memeber of the Galaxy "B" team, and finally, Jose played for Club Deportivo Alianza in 2001. He has been coaching at Mission College, which was followed by being the Reseda Boys Varsity Head Coach until 2003. In 2004 he was named the Head Coach of Chaminade Boys Varisty Soccer team. As a youth coach, he has coached several club teams, including North Valley Rockers GU10, North Valley Blast BU11-13, and Valley United GU16. Jose Mejia holds a National "B" license and is a member of the ODP (Olympic Development Program) coaching staff. He serves as a Fitness and Soccer Instructor at CSUN, and is an assistant coach for the San Fernando Quakes PDL team.
