Girls U19 End VUSC Career As Eagles Summer Classic Champions
Girls U14, Girls U15, & Girls U17 are finalists
June 14, 2010

They were talking about it for the last couple of months, they were looking forward to it, and the same dreading it. Girls U19 last game as a Valley United team is coming. How will it turn out? What will be remembered? How will they go out? Well, it could not end better for coach Hugh Donald, manager Brian Williams and their girls team, which joined our club as an U9 team from Balboa AYSO. Just two weeks ago, they captured the Cerritos Memorial Cup, and now, their very final game was another championship victory.
They opened the tournament with 6:0 win over Puma USA. Then another shut-out win, this time over the host Eagles. Next, a 2:0 shut-out defeat of AC Milan, and that moved them into their final game. They met there their under-study, our Girls U17 team (next season Girls U19 Rackham). Knowing that this was going to be the very last time they will play together, perhaps understandably, they took no mercy on their sister team and defeated them 7:0. When it was all over, their finals stats over the final two tournaments were 2 championship titles, 9 wins, 8 of them by shut-outs, no defeats, 28 goals for and only 1 against.
Congratulations to all parents. We hope that you found your experience of being part of our club exciting and rewarding to your daughters.
Girls U14 (next season Girls U15 Donald) came within a goal of also taking the Eagles Classic title and finished as finalists. In the gold medal game, they lost 2:1 to Eagles Blue. On the way to the title game they defeated Eagles White 3:0 and NPSC Cougars 2:0. They took the semifinal game against SBFSC Blue by a score of 5:0 to reach the championship game.
Playing up in age, Girls U15 (next season U16 Donald) entered the U16 bracket. They played very well, making it into the championship game. They defeated Real So Cal Blue 3:0, followed by a 2:0 win over Eagles Black. In the semifinals they outlasted Porterville Ice by a score of 1:0 to make it into the final game. They lost the final 4:0, had to settle for a finalist trophy, but a very good showing.
Girls U17 ( next season U19 Rackham) also had a great run. They were ufortunate to be placed in the same group as our GU19 team and playing them in the finals. Their road to the championship game saw them win 2:1 over Brigade Red, 2:1 over SLO Storm, and a 0:0 tie against Eagles Blue

Best wishes for a continued success to Ana Alvarado (Pepperdine), Ryan Appell (Cal State Bakersfield), Elvia Contreras (Cal State Bakersfield), Giselle Guzman (IUPUI), Megan Indermill (Cal Berkeley), Kayla Kret (Fresno State), Melissa Lopez, Jamie Molacek (West Point- Army), Emily Relles (Cal State Sanislaus), Morgan Ritter, Regan Romero (Arizona State), Nichole Smith (Cal Lutheran), Alyssa Triana, Raquel Weckhurst (Jacksonville Florida), Madison White (Point Loma UNiversity), and Mandi Williams (Chapman).

Boys U11 & Boys U12, Champions At PCSC/Bruin Classic
Girls U12 are Finalists
June 6, 2010

One week after the disappointing quarter final loss at the Cerritos Memorial Cup, Boys U11 team rebounded and took home the Champions trophy at the inaugural PCSC/Bruins Classic held at UCLA. The overwhelmed the host team PCSC Blue by a score of 7:0 in the opening game. That was followed by another one-sided win, 5:1 over South Bay Force Blue. Then, they defeated LAFC Chelsea by a score of 4:0. By winning the bracket, they reached the championship game against Oxnard Pal Gold. This time, the was very close and each team had several chances to score. But, on one their opportunities, our boys put one past the opponent's goalkeeper, and the defense took care of the rest for a hard fought 1:0 win and the championship trophy.
David Jackson's Boys U12 also capture the tournament champions title. They defeated Exiles 2:0, then followed by 3:1 victory over FC Golden State Attack, and finally, a 1:0 shut-out win over SM United. In the Championship they defeated the host team PCSC Red 3:1 to take the 1st place trophy.
Girls 12 almost gave us 3rd championship. They went through the tournament without allowing a goal against, until the final game. They defeated Culver Azul 1:0, tied Beach Black 0:0, and won 1:0 against Westchester. In the final, it was a rematch against Beach and this time our girls gave up one goal (1st of the tournament) and had to settle for 2nd place. Congratulations to all 3 teams for making this a great weekend for our club.

Girls U19 Last Hurah Is A Cerritos Memorial Cup Championship
May 31, 2010

Playing for the last time together, before some of the girls leave to play in college, Hugh Donald's Girls U19 team ended their successful Valley United career by capturing the 2010 Cerritos Memorial Cup. They defeated the Downtown Rapids Gold from Nevada 1:0, then followed by a 4:0 shut-out win over the Bakersfield Gunners in the 2nd game of the opening day on Saturday. On Sunday they continued their shut-out win streak by capturing both games again, 2:0 over CFC United and 5:0 over Arsenal FC. These results moved them into the Championship game on Monday against Eagles. Much tougher game, but when the final whistle blew, the score stood 2:1 in favor of the Valley United Girls, and the championship trophy belonged to them.
This team joined Valley United as a U9 team and except for a brief few months stayed with the club their entire existence. Through out their career they captured many tournaments and league titles and their talent is evident by the type of Colleges they were recruited to.
They will play as a team one more time at Eagles Classic, but without Joey Molacek and Emily Relles. Joey is off to West Point where she will play in the fall for the Army Black Knights, and Emily will compete for Cal State Stanislaus Warriors. We wish both of them much continued success.

Boys U11 And Girls U14 Capture Eagles Spring Classic Championships, Girls U12 Are Finalists
March 15, 2010

Continuing their impressive run of tournament championships, Boys U11 added another one to their already long list. After finishing 2nd in the Eagles Winter Classic, they came back and captured the Spring Classic version. In the group play, they opened against Redwood City Juventus United 98. The game turned out to be a warm up type game, as Juventus proved to be no opponent and our boys won 9:0. Next, although the score did not indicate so, they totally dominated Real So Cal Blue (with several guest players from Gold DMS11 team), and won that game 2:0. Semifinal game matched them against Las Vegas FC Heat, a team that just a couple of months ago at the Las Vegas Cup gave them a tough match and held our team to a 1:1 draw. Not this time, however, as we took the game by a score of 3:0. Las Vegas had a chance to get back into the game with a penalty shot, but our goalkeeper left them no hope with a spectacular save. In the Championship game, they again met Real So Cal Blue, a surprise finalist since they upset Real So Cal White team (next year's Silver Elite) in the semifinals. Where in the bracket game the score was 2:0, this time our boys left no doubt and won the game 5:1. The goal allowed was the only mark against the defense as they outscored opponents 19:1.
Girls U14 also came home with the Champions trophy. They opened with a shut-out 1:0 win over Cougars. Next was an entertaining, back and forth affair, with our team prevailing by a score of 3:2 over VC Fusion YSA. Semifinal game produced another 1:0 shut-out win, this time over CVU Red G95. The opponent in the final game was again VC Fusion YSA, and our girls proved that the earlier win was no fluke as they once again defeated them, this time by a score of 2:1.
Other team that participated and had excellent results were Girls U12, who marched all the way into the finals with 3 straight wins, 2:1 over Santa Anita SC Strikers, 2:0 over Milan Red, and 1:0 win over the host Eagles/Real BLack. In the final they were just edged out by Palmdale SC Thunder 1:0.

Boys U11 Finish As Finalists At Coast Soccer California Cup
March 1, 2010

So close, just one goal was the difference between 1st and 2nd place, and for the 2nd year in a row, Boys U11 had to settle for the Finalist trophy. Once again, these boys played consistently excellent soccer. In a group play, they easily defeated UIFC LA Aztecs, Bronze Kappa Champions 3:0. Next, they receive a wake up call when they lost to a very strong Central California Blues, Bronze North Champions, by a score of 1:0, although they did play well. They turned their intensity in the next game against Silver East Champions, Arsenal White, and defeated them 2:1. Quarterfinals matched them against Silver Elite LAFC Chelsea team and our boys took the game by a score of 2:0. Semifinal game was against ASC Metrostars and after scoreless draw the game went into pks. Our goalie saved the last kick, we won 4:3, and moved to the championship game for the 2nd year in a row. The final game was exciting, with actions going back and forth, both team proving that they deserved to be in the championship affair. Each team created some nice scoring opportunities, but defenses and goalkeepers kept their score sheets clean. LA Rampage, however, took advantage of one of those opportunities and scored one goal and won the game 1:0. Outstanding performance and congratulations!

Boys U11 & Girls U13 Are Finalists At Eagles Winter Classic
January 11, 2010

Boys U11 and Girls U13 did not wait long to start playing again. They started the New Year same way as they finished last year, playing good soccer and being competitive. Boys U11 played up in age group, entered in the U12 division, and still represented themselves very well. They opened against Moorpark Express and won easily 2:0. This was followed by a 0:0 tie against Barcelona California where they dominated the game, but just could not break through Barca's defense. Finally, their offense came alive in their last bracket game as they defeated Atascadero Storm from Central Valley 6:2. Playing against bigger, stronger and older boys, however took it's toll, and they did not have anything left in the championship game against U12 Real California, and lost 5:1. Great experience and a good tune-up for the upcoming State Cup.
Girls U13 coincidentally opened against Moorpark Express as well and won by a score of 4:1. Ventura FC was their next opponent and the were held to a 1:1 tie. They concluded bracket play by defeating one of the host teams, Eagles Blue. The score was 3:2. In the Championship game they were matched against another host team, and this Eagles teams beat our girls 2:0. Nevertheless, a very good start in the New Year.

More Accolades For Boys U11 Team
December 21, 2009

They just finished celebrating their Coast Soccer League Championship. Then, they entered the Orange Tournament of Champions, and the celebrations started all over again. This very talented Boys U11 group added another 1st place trophy to their already impressive list. They began with a 2:1 win over the the 2009 Silver South Champions FC Blades. Next, they blanked the TVSA Hawks from Temecula by a score of 2:0, and in the final bracket game, they outlasted Aztecs from the Presidio League 2:1. In the finals, they played Capo FC, also undefeated in the tournament. Our boys dominated the game, even missed a penalty shot, did not allow Capo any goal scoring opportunity and easily won 4:0. Congratulations on a great year and much success in 2010.

Boys U9 Red Add To The List Of Valley United Coast League Champions
December 13, 2009

The final game for Gabriel Lopez' Boys U9 Red was delayed by coupled of weeks due to unavailable field. The game against LAFC Chelsea White was finally played today and with 1st place riding on the game, this first year team came through and overcame the pressure and won 3:2 to capture the 2009 Coast Soccer League Championship. Their final statistics read 11 wins, 1 loss, and 2 ties. They outscored opponents 47:26. We congratulate all players, parents, and coaches, and look forward to following their progress in the upcoming years.

Boys U11 & Boys U12 Win 2009 Coast Soccer League Season
BU9 Red (could still win), BU11 Red, and GU13 finish in 2nd places
November 22, 2009

The 2009 Coast Soccer League season concluded and several of our teams achieved excellent results. Boys U11, coached by Sharf Leon, captured 1st place with an outstanding record of 9 wins, 2 loses, and 1 tie, just edging out our BU11 Red team. Their goal differential was +59 as they scored 69 goals and allowed only 10 against. Interestingly, both loses were against our U11 Red team. David Jackson's Boys U12 won their age group with equally fine results. Their record was 12-2-0 and they outscored opponents 50:16.
Several other teams had a great season as well. Gabriel Lopez' Boys U9 Red sit currently in 2nd and can't finish any worse than that. However, they played one less game. Should they win their final game (not yet scheduled), this 1st year team would finish in a 1st place tie and share the championship. As mentioned above, Boys U11 Red team beat the BU11 champions both times, and finished in 2nd place, just one point behind. Their record was 8-1-3, with 42 goals scored and only 12 allowed. Miguel Arteaga's Girls U13 achieved outstanding results with a record of 10 wins, 2 loses, and 1 tie, and finished in 2nd place. Our oldest team, Boys U19 took 3rd place. Congratulations to all of you for a great job.

Boys U9 Red Make Semifinals Of The 2009 Simi Valley Labor Day Invitational
September 7, 2009

Although not the results they were hoping for, still, this brand new team, just starting their club career, reached another semifinals. Gabriel Lopez' Boys U9 Red won their opening game, beating our neighbors Rampage FC in an offensive showdown 6:5. Next, they totally dominated SVSC White by a lopsided score of 11:2. They needed a tie in their final game to advance, and that is what they got, a 4:4 deadlock against SBSC White. Semifinal game did not go their way and they lost 5:1, but this team is very talented and improving every time they take the field, and all of us at Valley United are excited about their future.

Boys U13 Red Win 2009 Orange County Kickoff Classic
September 1, 2009

A new team to our club this season, Boys U13 Red, coached by Russel Milton and Jim Stubblefield, captured this year's Orange County Kickoff Classic. They had a great tournament run, winning all games, and in the process outscoring opponents 17:2. They started with a shut-out win over PCSC Blue, which was followed by a 3:1 victory over the South Bay Gunners. In their final game, the goals came in bunches, and they defeated Select Cities SC 7:1. The championship game was a showdown of two undefeated teams, as their opponent, Pacific Central Mavericks, won all games as well. Our boys played a good controlled game, allowing only one goal, and they defeated Mavericks 3:0 to win the tournament. Congratulations and good luck in your league season.

Boys U11 Bring Home The 2009 West Coast Futbol Classic Championship
August 17, 2009

Well, they did it again. This group of talented young boys, always challenging themseves by wanting to play "the best of the best", competed against a very strong field of opponents, Silver, Silver Elite and Gold teams, and emerged as Champions. They set the tone from the start as they defeated a Silver team Real So Cal White by a score of 4:2. Next opponent was LAFC Chelsea, a Silver Elite team, and our boys shut them out 1:0. Perhaps feeling too confident after the two big wins, they stumbled in their 3rd game and lost 2:0 to a Gold team Arsenal FC. However, their performance in their first two games was good enough to advance them into the semifinals. There, they met Rampage FC, another Gold team, and one that scored 9 goals in the three bracket games. Our defense was outstanding, preventing Rampage from creating many good scoring chances, and when they did, our goalkeeper was always in the right spot to make that final save. The game went eventually into the penalty kicks, and our boys prevailed 4:3 to reach the final. Waiting for them was another very good team, the host team West Coast FC, a Silver Elite team undefeated in the tournament so far. The game was very exciting, going back and forth, and eventually, West Coast scored to take a 1:0 lead. Rather then getting down on themselves, our team turned up the offensive pressure, and with only 2 minutes remaining, they got the tying goal and once again, the game had to be decided on penalty kicks. This time our goalkeeper saved 2 shots, and our boys won the shoot-out 4:2 and captured Championship trophy. Outstanding performance!

Boys U9 Red & Girls U12 Win VC Premier Cup
Girls U14 are Finalists and Boys U10 White Semifinalists
August 10, 2009

Valley United was well represented at the 2009 Ventura County Premier Cup. All four teams participating advanced into the elimination rounds, with two of them winning the championship.
Boys U9 Red
ran away with the title by winning all 4 games and outscoring their opponents by a 27:5 margin. They defeated Real So Cal Black 7:1 and Real So Cal Blue 3:1. In a very one-sided affair, they overwhelmed the host team Apex and won 14: 2, and finally they were victorious over SBSC White by a score of 3:1. This is a 2nd tournament championship title for this new team. Earlier, they captured the Extreme Cup
Girls U12 found their opponents much tougher, because they played up in age, in the GU13 age group. They opened with a 3:1 win over CVU Blue, but lost their 2nd game to Moorpark Express 2:1. The top 2 teams advanced into the championship game, so they needed to win their final game against Claremont Stars. They left no doubt, as they won the game 5:2. The championship game was a rematch against Moorpark Express, the team that they lost to. This time, however, everyone was playing well. Offense scored and defense helped the goalkeeper keep a clean sheet. The final score was a 3:0 victory, payback for the earlier defeat, and a champions trophy.
Girls U14 did well, advancing into the championship game, before losing 2:0 to Real So Cal Blue in the finals. Boys U10 White were defeated in the semifinals. Congratulations to all of you on a good weekend.

Boys U13 Black Gives Back To Less Fortunate
July 29, 2009

Since its inception, Valley United teams have been known for producing good, competitive teams. They also have been producing teams that not only spend time on the field, but they spend time working for many good causes. In the past, some of our players donated time to "Operation Sparkle", "Make-A-Wish Foundation", and "Loaves and Fishes", among others. Just recently, our Girls U12 team participated in the REVLON Run/Walk for Women in Los Angeles. This past weekend our Boys U13 Black team did a food drive to assist the "Help the Children Foundation" this past weekend.  They managed to raise over 1500 items to help the cause!! Check out the "Photo Album" page and look at the proud, smiling faces of these boys. That says it all, not only a player development in soccer, but also as good people. Thank you and a great job!!

Boys U11 Red Win 2009 Islands Classic
July 27, 2009

Last year our Boys U10, (now Boys U11) won this tournament. This year we sent the Boys U11 Red team to defend the championship instead. At the end, the result was the same - Valley United emerged the tournament's Champions for the 2nd straight year in this age group. The opening match against San Jose Almaden Mercury Green was very even, evident by a 1:1 tie score. The offense and defense came alive in the 2nd game with a shut-out 2:0 win over Chivas USA. Semifinal game was a rematch against San Jose Alamden Mercury Green, and same result, a 1:1 tie. However, this time there needed to be a decision, so the game went into the penalty kicks, and the boys came on top 4:2. They now moved into the championship game against a Silver Elite team, Santa Clarita United. They played good soccer, they stayed organized defensively, and the offense did what they were supposed to do, score goals. The final result was a 3:1 victory, and a back to back championship for Valley United in this age group.

Boys U9 Red Bring Xtreme Cup Champions Title Home
July 27, 2009

Getting ready for the upcoming 1st league season, Boys U9 entered the Extreme Cup and faced four different opponents. They played very well, and dominated most of their opponents. They defeated United 6:2 in the opening game, followed by a 17:0 one-sided affair against the Crew. They did not try to pour it on, but to prevent 9 years old from scoring, especially a new team, is not an easy task. In the 3rd game, they outlasted Chelsea 3:2. That brought them to the championship game against host club Xtreme, and our boys once again won in the dominating fashion, this time the score was 8:2.

Boys U11 Finish As Finalists At Slammers Futbol Classic
July 22, 2009

The team drew a difficult bracket, because the teams entered in this age group were Silver Elite and Gold teams. But, as in the past several tournaments, this team always rises when the competition gets tough. This was again clearly evident as they tied back to back State Champions Pateadores White and West Coast FC, both by a score of 1:1. Then, they easily handled PVSC Exiles and emerged on top by a score of 7:0. In the finals, against Pateadores White, the game went back and forth, but no goal was produced in the regulation, and it ended in the 0:0 tie. The game went into penalty shoot-outs, and Pateadores White prevailed 6:5. Defense was great against these top opponents as they allowed only 2 goals against. A special mention must go to the goalkeeper David Preys, as he was outstanding in making several spectacular saves, even saving one of the penalty shots in the shoot-outs. Unfortunately, our team did not take advantage of this great stop as we missed another kick and that eventually resulted in having to settle for 2nd place.
